DIVINE HERESY Performs With New Singer For First Time; Video Footage Available

August 23, 2008

DIVINE HERESY, the Southern California-based band led by former FEAR FACTORY guitarist Dino Cazares, has issued the following update:

"[Thursday night, August 21] we took the stage at Café Iguana in Monterrey, Mexico. Before we even started the intro to the set, the crowd was roaring 'Divine Heresy' over and over. The intro started and the stage curtains opened to over 1,000 faces screaming back at us! As we played our opener, 'Bleed the Fifth', the crowd erupted into a insane circle pit! Our new vocalist, Travis Neal (PUSHED, THE BEREAVED),recieved the warmest welcome that he could ever expect to recieve, The crowd accepted him right away and he hit everything perfectly. As we tore through our set, the energy of the audience did not stop. From circle pits to the almighty wall of death! The crowd was amazing. The show was put on by Monster Energy drink and we can't thank them enough for the support! Promoter Freddie Ibbara has done a stand up job on these shows and we can't thank him enough for the hospitality that he has shown us! Monterrey's crowd was insane! We look farward to returning again in the future!"

Fan-filmed video footage of the performance can be viewed below.

DIVINE HERESY has posted a new version of the the title cut of the band's debut album, "Bleed The Fifth", featuring Neal on vocals. Check it out at this location. A video for the track is also currently being edited together for an early September air date.

Commented Cazares: "We are beyond stoked to have Travis on board with us and we immediately knew that he was the perfect guy for the job. He definitely has the range and stage presence to make him one of the genre's most lethal vocalists out there and the new material we are writing is going to smoke our debut. It's more brutal, faster and pissed off, so you better start preparing yourselves now. Until then, we went ahead and re-recorded 'Bleed The Fifth' with Travis and it's just a little taste of what this guy is truly capable of so enjoy and we will see you soon."

DIVINE HERESY recently completed a North American trek with fill-in vocalist Jake Veredika (former lead singer of the Maryland-based metal band PERIPHERY).

Travis Neal (see photo below) in January joined the Swedish melodic death/thrash metal band THE BEREAVED as the group's new frontman. He has since recorded the vocal tracks for THE BEREAVED's new album, "Daylight Deception", which is due later in the year via Vic Records. Three songs from the CD are available for streaming on the band's MySpace page.

DIVINE HERESY's debut album, "Bleed the Fifth", has sold more than 20,000 copies in the United States since its August 2007 release, according to Nielsen SoundScan. The CD was released in Japan with an exclusive bonus track, "Purity Defiled".
