DIVINE EMPIRE Part Ways With Bassist/Vocalist JASON BLACHOWICZ

June 10, 2005

Florida-based death metallers DIVINE EMPIRE have parted ways with bassist/vocalist Jason Blachowicz (ex-MALEVOLENT CREATION) due to "serious personal and legal issues." Guitarist J.P. Soars and drummer Duane Timlin have already found a replacement and are planning on hitting the road in support of their recently released CD, "Method of Execution", available now on Century Media Records.

As previously reported, DIVINE EMPIRE have been added to the VADER-headlined Blitzkrieg 3 European tour, set to kick off in early September. LOST SOUL will appear on the Polish leg of the trek, while DIVINE EMPIRE will join the bill for the remaining dates. Blitzkrieg 3 will include almost 50 dates in countries like Poland, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Spain, Portugal, France, Denmark, Belgium, The Netherlands, Italy, Czech Republic, Sweden and Norway. Other groups appearing on the bill are ROTTING CHRIST and ANOREXIA NERVOSA.

Produced once again by Jeremy Staska (MALEVOLENT CREATION, HATEPLOW, REMEMBERING NEVER, NONPOINT, POISON THE WELL),"Method of Execution" sees DIVINE EMPIRE moving away from their straight-ahead death metal origins "to include a variety of influences, helping distance them from their MALEVOLENT CREATION brethren," according to a press release. "Stronger melodies, catchier song structures and hints of classical, doom, black, and even classic rock all rear their ugly heads."
