DIO, IN FLAMES, BESEECH, CHAOSBREED, TROLLHEIM'S GROTT and CHARON are the latest bands confirmed for Tuska Open Air Metal Festival, set to take place July 16-18 in the Kaisaniemi park in the center of Helsinki, Finland. The previously announced co-headliner KING DIAMOND will NOT be performing at this year's festival (as first reported here on Feb. 12). According to the event organizers, "the artist's representative apologizes for the cancellation that came immediately after the confirmation and for the fact that KING DIAMOND will not be able to perform for his Finnish fans. However, the Artist has personal matters which require him to remain on the U.S. soil."
The complete list of artists currently scheduled to appear at the three-day event is as follows:
TIMO RAUTIAINEN & TRIO NISKALAUKAUS
SWALLOW THE SUN
Over the course of three days, more than 30 bands will be appearing on three different stages.
In addition to the festival itself, the evening-clubs will entertain the festival crowd from Thursday through Sunday in four different locations.
Tickets for Tuska 2004 will go on sale in May through Tiketti (www.tiketti.fi), Lippupalvelu (www.lippupalvelu.fi) and Menolippu (www.menolippu.fi). Tickets will also be available at select record stores. Tuska 2004 is an all-ages festival.
