DIMEBAG Tribute Concert Scheduled For Virginia Beach This Weekend

According to Port Folio Weekly, metal bands DREADLINE, SINN, BULLISTIC (from Richmond) and SCARZ WITHIN will each perform a special musical tribute to honor the memory of "Dimebag" Darrell Abbott at Tonics Bar & Grill in Virginia Beach, VA on Dec. 9. Dimebag Darrell (Darrell Lance Abbott) was co-founder and lead guitarist for the legendary heavy metal band PANTERA. When PANTERA broke up in 2003, Dimebag and his brother Vinnie Paul formed DAMAGEPLAN. On Dec. 8, 2004, while performing with DAMAGEPLAN at the Alrosa Villa in Columbus, Ohio, Dimebag was shot and killed onstage by Nathan Gale. He was 38 years old.

The tribute show is also is also a Toys For Tots toy drive. Admission is free, just bring along a new unwrapped toy. Tonics is located at 550 Independence Blvd. The show is 21 and up.
