DIESEL MACHINE Bassist Designs Custom-Built Wheelchair For The Disabled

June 15, 2007

DIESEL MACHINE bassist Rich Gonzales, who nearly lost his life after broadsiding a car while riding his Harley-Davidson motorcycle in August 2002, has issued the following update:

"As you might know, I was the guy put in the wheelchair in that horrible bike accident. Well, times gone by and I'm unveiling my new creation this weekend. It's a 'wheelchair chopper' — totally sick and ready for the world to see. It'll be on display at the Abilities Expo at the Long Beach Convention Center in California. It's at the Colours Wheelchair booth Friday, Saturday and Sunday. This is a one-of-a-kind bike designed and built by me for me, and it's bad. Check it out at www.str8shot.com or www.myspace.com/str8shotx. It really is killer."

Gonzales — who is currently "in a wheelchair, paralyzed from the waist down, but jamming music as mean as ever" — recently issued the following update on his music-related activities:

"First off, the new DIESEL MACHINE is almost done and is sounding amazing, really killer stuff. When Pat [Lachman, DIESEL MACHINE guitarist, former DAMAGEPLAN vocalist and ex-HALFORD guitarist] finishes playing guitar on the KILLSWITCH ENGAGE tour, things will resume. All-original lineup: A.J. [Cavalier, SOIL], Pat, Shane [Gaalaas, MSG, B'Z], and Rich [RECIPIENTS OF DEATH, DEVILUTION]. Release date still not known. More info coming soon.

"Secondly, my new project AMERICAN AFTERMATH is getting things rolling, writing and recording some killer tunes and mapping out a good plan for management and a recording deal. Hear some new music at this location. More news to come."

DIESEL MACHINE's last album, "Torture Test", came out in 2000 via SPV Records. More information is available at this location.
