DETRIMENTUM Renews Deal With GRINDETHIC RECORDS

March 15, 2007

Grindethic Records has announced the signing of U.K. extreme metallers DETRIMENTUM. The label had previously released the group's debut EP, "A Monument to Suffering", in 1999.

Commented Tom from Grindethic: "After long discussions with the band, we are extremely proud to announce that the fantastic full-length 'Embracing This Deformity' will see light of day via Grindethic Records in spring 2007. This album offers a unique experience of dark and crushing brutality intertwined with an atmosphere of morbid doom."

Formed in 1996 under the name ZARATHUSTRA, the band eventually evolved into the monster known as DETRIMENTUM. Recorded over a two-year period, their upcoming magnus opus, "Embracing this Deformity", "exhibits the band's exceptional depth and maturity in compositions whereby they craft an unconventional mix of old-school death metal combined with sweeping guitar melodies, expansive doom passages and tortured vocals," according to a press release.

DETRIMENTUM's lineup is as follows:

Jon Butlin - Guitar
Paul Wilkinson – Guitar
Eddie Ruffles (INFECTED DISARRAY) – Bass & Vocals
Jon Rushforth (GOREROTTED, INFECTED DISARRAY) - Drums
