DESTRUCTION Slam Italian Festival Organizer, Describe Experience As "Insulting"

August 15, 2002

German thrashers DESTRUCTION have slammed the organizers of The Chiaromonte Festival in south Italy, where the group recently appeared, as completely unprofessional, and have described the circumstances under which they had to perform at the event as "total chaos". According to an official statement, "the band almost cancelled the show because of the terrible organization and the bad circumstances! After traveling 24 hours to south Italy, the local promoter didn't care about his contract and DESTRUCTION never had such an insulting treatment in their whole career! They finally played the show, 'cause the faithful Italian fans traveled from all over the country to see the band! So cheers to the fans and a big FUCK YOU to the festival oranization! Is this what you call the famous Italian hospitality — BULLSHIT!!! VICOUS RUMOURS did play on the same 'event' and did get only half of their fee...unbelievable...bella Italia!"
