DESPISED ICON Prepare For MASTERS OF CHAOS Tour; Debut Album To Be Re-Released

March 9, 2006

Montreal-based deathcore six-piece DESPISED ICON are currently preparing for a massive U.S. run on the eagerly anticipated Masters of Chaos tour with MORBID ANGEL and labelmates BEHEMOTH and KRISIUN. The trek, which kicks off on April 2 and runs through early May, is in support of "The Healing Process", their highly-acclaimed sophomore album. The group's explosive live performances on national U.S. tours alongside such acclaimed artists as DEICIDE, THE RED CHORD, SUFFOCATION, CRYPTOPSY, ION DISSONANCE and THROUGH THE EYES OF THE DEAD caught the entire metal community's attention, and they look to further establish their position as one of the genre's most devastating new acts with this upcoming run.

DESPISED ICON recently shot a video for the track "The Sunset Will Never Charm Us" with acclaimed director Jean-Philippe Bernier (A PERFECT MURDER). Look for it to make its MTV2 debut late next month. The group's debut offering, "Consumed By Your Poison", will also be re-released on April 4. It has been remixed with two newly recorded bonus tracks and features all new artwork/layouts.

Commented vocalist Alex Erian: "'Consumed By Your Poison' marked the beginning of our band, back in 2002. It being re-released through Century Media and demonstrates how supportive the people behind the label have been with us so far. Big thanks to them and to Galy Records for the continuing support and for giving us our first chance. It was remixed by our very own guitarist Yannick St-Amand (BENEATH THE MASSACRE, ION DISSONANCE) and the result sounds way heavier then the original version. This also contains re-recorded versions of the first two tracks on the disc. The whole cover and layout was redone by our buddy Sven from ABORTED, so you know it will look sick as hell. We hope you enjoy it."

DESPISED ICON's "The Healing Process" was produced by Yannick St-Amand, mixed by J-F Dagenais (MISERY INDEX, KATAKLYSM) and mastered by Alan Douches (SHADOWS FALL, THE DILLINGER ESCAPE PLAN).
