DELAIN: Video Highlights From Zwolle Gig Posted Online

November 24, 2007

The Dutch branch of Roadrunner Records has uploaded video highlights from DELAIN's November 2 concert at Broerenkerk in Zwolle, Holland, where the band was joined by special guests, WITHIN TEMPTATION vocalist Sharon den Adel and LEAVES' EYES singer Liv Kristine. Watch the five-minute clip at this location (Windows Media).

DELAIN is the Dutch gothic rock project founded by ex-WITHIN TEMPTATION keyboardist Martijn Westerholt (brother of WITHIN TEMPTATION's Robert Westerholt).

DELAIN released a new single, "See Me in Shadow", in the Netherlands on July 23. In addition to the title cut, the single includes three special acoustic versions.

DELAIN's video for "See Me in Shadow" is available for viewing on YouTube. The song is the second single from DELAIN's debut album, "Lucidity", which came out last year. The clip for "See Me in Shadow" was shot on May 8 "in a very special country cottage in Brabant, Holland," according to a posting on the group's web site.

In addition to Martijn Westerholt and Charlotte Wessels (vocals),"Lucidity" features guest appearances by the following musicians:

Jan Yrlund (ex-LACRIMOSA) - Guitars
Ariën van Weesenbeek (GOD DETHRONED) - Drums
Ad Sluijter (EPICA)
George Oosterhoek (ex-ORPHANAGE)
Guus Eikens (ex-ORPHANAGE)
Sharon Den Adel (WITHIN TEMPTATION)
Marco Hietala (NIGHTWISH)
Liv Kristine (LEAVES' EYES)

"Lucidity" contains some interesting duets: Liv Kristine sings with Marco Hietala on "Day For Ghosts" and with Charlotte on "See Me In Shadow". Sharon den Adel's distinctive voice is a great counterpart to Marco's intense vocals on "No Compliance", whereas the heavy grunts of George Oosthoek combine very well with Charlotte's peaceful voice on a number of other tracks.
