DEF LEPPARD's Cover Of DAVID ESSEX's 'Rock On' Available Via iTunes

May 10, 2006

The first single off DEF LEPPARD's upcoming covers album, "Yeah!" (which will hit the stores May 23) is now available, and it is LEPPARD's version of the DAVID ESSEX classic "Rock On". But you can't go to your local record store to pick it up on CD; that seems to be the old-fashioned way for singles nowadays. "Rock On" is only available as an iTunes download (U.S. only) for $0.99. To order and download, click here. There is currently no information available about (future) availability of "Rock On" via non-iTunes outlets.

DEF LEPPARD's 12th studio album, "Yeah!" is said to be "a heartfelt and hard-rocking tribute" to DEF LEPPARD's musical heroes of the late '60s and '70s — THE KINKS, BADFINGER, T. REX, DAVID BOWIE, SWEET, ROXY MUSIC, MOTT THE HOOPLE, FREE, FACES, and THIN LIZZY.

As previously reported, DEF LEPPARD will be taking part in an outdoor performance on NBC's "Tonight Show with Jay Leno" on May 23, to be shown nationwide at 11:35 p.m. EST. Information about tickets for the show can be found here.

DEF LEPPARD have tapped JOURNEY as the opener for a coast-to-coast run that begins June 23 in Camden, N.J. After hitting the road in 2005 with BRYAN ADAMS, this is the second year in a row singer Joe Elliott and company have teamed up with an established act that may be outside of their perceived genre.
