September 14, 2006

According to a posting on DEF LEPPARD's official web site, DEF LEPPARD got a good namecheck last week during a ROLLING STONES show at Don Valley, Sheffield. During one of Mick Jagger's audience raps between two songs, he showed that he knew his: "It's great to be in Sheffield, the home of DEF LEPPARD! Who knows, we may do a version of 'Pour Some Sugar on Me' for the encore..."

DEF LEPPARD singer Joe Elliott recently posted a message on the official DefLeppard.com web site stating the band band is "gonna try and get a new album done in time to tour in 2007." Elliott said the band was thinking about dates in Europe, where they played earlier this year, as well as heading to Japan and Australia. The singer did caution fans that nothing was set in stone, writing "Of course, anything can change — and lots of things probably will!!!! — but as of right now, that's our plan."

DEF LEPPARD recently released their cover of T. REX's "20th Century Boy" as the new single from covers project "Yeah!"
