DEEP PURPLE Singer IAN GILLAN: More 'Gillan's Inn' Samples Posted Online

March 18, 2006

Deep-Purple.net has uploaded clips of four songs from DEEP PURPLE frontman Ian Gillan's upcoming all-star retrospective disc, "Gillan's Inn". Check out the tracks "Bluesy Blue Sea", "Trashed", "Men of War" and "Unchain Your Brain" at this location.

"Gillan's Inn" sees Gillan revisiting a number of songs from throughout his career, which has included his long tenure in DEEP PURPLE, his solo work, and a short-lived membership in BLACK SABBATH, according to Launch Radio Networks. Gillan cut the album with friends including DEF LEPPARD singer Joe Elliott, GOO GOO DOLLS leader Johnny Rzeznik, SABBATH guitarist Tony Iommi, and former RAINBOW and SABBATH singer Ronnie James Dio, as well as current and former members of DEEP PURPLE. The album will be released in the DualDisc format, so while one side has the music in traditional stereo, the other side will include a 5.1 mix, video from the recording sessions, previously unseen photos, footage from a bootleg DVD, and multiple versions of "Smoke on the Water" done with different guitarists. "Gillan's Inn" comes out April 18.

DEEP PURPLE's latest album is called "Rapture of the Deep". The band is in the midst of a world tour that hit Venice, Italy, Friday night (March 17). North American dates will probably happen this summer.
