DEAD TROOPER To Support ENTOMBED In Oslo

August 29, 2006

Norwegian thrashers DEAD TROOPER will support ENTOMBED on September 24 at Amplifier in Oslo, Norway.

DEAD TROOPER has just returned from their opening show at the Hole In The Sky festival in Bergen, Norway, which "went great," according to the band. The group will also perform at the Mandatory Festival on September 9 in Oslo alongside WOTAN, ARCH NEMESIS and WITCHHAMMER. The bass duties for DEAD TROOPER at this concert will be handled by Memnock from SUSPERIA since the group's regular bassist, Andreas, will be performing with LEFT AMONG THE LIVING at the DeadFest in Sweden.

DEAD TROOPER recently posted a new song, entitled "Reaping of Your Cries", on their MySpace page. The track was premiered live during the band's appearance at the Hole In The Sky festival.

DEAD TROOPER earlier in the year announced the addition of drummer Marius Strand (BLACK COMEDY) to the group's ranks. Strand joined the band as the replacement for Are Sorknes, who left the group in January because he "didn't have enough time for both DEAD TROOPER and his other projects," according to a statement from the band.

DEAD TROOPER's "Spiritual Funeral" EP was recorded at Marek Poknes studios during December 2004–January 2005 and was previously described by the band as "a mix of SLAYER and old SEPULTURA, with death metal influences."
