DAVID WAYNE's Brother To Audition For Singer Slot In REVEREND

October 12, 2005

As BLABBERMOUTH.NET first reported on September 10, the surviving members of DAVID WAYNE'S METAL CHURCH — the band formed by late METAL CHURCH frontman David Wayne — have now confirmed that Wayne's brother Dennis will be auditioning for the vocalist slot in the newly reformed REVEREND the weekend of November 4, 2005. "We are excited about the possibilities," the band write in a press release. "Dennis will be treated as our other prospects and will be put through the 'grinder' during his tryout."

Guitarist Davey Lee (also of BYFIST) had this to say, "We are keyed up about the possibilities. DC will be coming to Texas in the next few weeks and we hope there will be magic when he auditions."

Wayne's bandmates had previously stated about Dave's passing, "When a bandmate dies, the remaining members have to make a decision; continue on with the same beliefs, values, and direction, or stop playing together and pursue other projects. In our case, David left us specific instructions. After a period of mourning and in David Wayne's honor, we will follow through with the 'Godfather of Metal''s wishes.

"We are working on our older material plus the new collaborated songs with lyrics by David Wayne and are in search of a lead vocalist. We are not seeking a replacement for David Wayne, but a vocalist who wants metal to be metal and carry on the tradition and give justice to the lyrics and music of REVEREND!"

REVEREND 2005 is:

Davey Lee - Guitar
Nacho Vara - Guitar
Jesse Vara - Drums
Brendon Kyle - Bass

As previously reported, Wayne died on May 10, 2005 due to complications from injuries he sustained in a head-on automobile accident several months earlier. He was 47 years old.
