Daughter Of AEROSMITH's Head Of Security Killed In Car Crash

A 16-year-old girl was killed and three other youths injured in car crash on rain-slickened roads in Plympton, Massachusetts while they played hooky from school, authorities said.
Victoria Wightman, known to friends as Torri, died Tuesday morning after the car she was riding in slammed into a minivan. She was the daughter of Donald Wightman of Hingham, the head of security for the rock band AEROSMITH, The Enterprise of Brockton reported.
The three other girls in the car remained hospitalized in the pediatric intensive care unit at Boston Medical Center. At least three of the four was not wearing a seat belt, authorities said.
The investigation was continuing and no charges had been filed, said Bridget Norton Middleton, spokeswoman for the Plymouth County district attorney.
The driver of the minivan, a Halifax woman who was wearing a seat belt, suffered minor injuries. Her three young children, who were all in car seats, were not hurt, police said.
Wightman's father dropped her off at the South Shore Public Charter School in Norwell, and friends persuaded her to skip school, friends told The Enterprise.
"It was probably the first time she ever left school," said Tina Goodman, a friend's mother.
A preliminary investigation determined the crash on Route 106 was the result of excessive speed for the road conditions, said Plympton Police Chief Matthew Clancy. That stretch of road was still wet, with puddles left from the recent soaking rains.
