DARKSIDE Singer Hospitalized

December 3, 2010

Singer Wolf of Austria's longest-running death metal band DARKSIDE was hospitalized earlier this week "for a thrombosis which he caught while having his leg in plaster after overthrowing his ankle two weeks ago," the band says in its latest e-mail update. "The situation has been stabilized but Wolf is forced to undergo therapy for at least half a year until the thrombosis will be resolved and all will hopefully be back to normal as soon as possible. Meanwhile, he and Bernd [Brodträger, guitar] have been working on motre demos for DARKSIDE's upcoming new album, 'XX Deca(y)de - Throne Of The Deathgod', set for release in early summer 2011 in order to celebrate the 20 anniversary of DARKSIDE's founding back in 1991."

"XX-Deca(y)ed – Throne of the Deathgod" will feature re-recorded versions of songs from all of DARKSIDE's albums as well as a few cover songs, some surprises and a brand new track. The CD artwork will be created by Joachim Luetke, who has previously worked with DIMMU BORGIR, ARCH ENEMY, MESHUGGAH and KREATOR, among others. DARKSIDE is also writing material for a new studio LP, which will be titled "A-E-I-O-U".

DARKSIDE recently announced its brand new lineup. It is as follows:

* Bernd Brodträger (BLED DRY, PEREAT, DEVANIC) - Guitar
* Janos Murri (DEMOLITION, PRIORITY) - Guitar
* Andrea Rabuini (INFERNAL POETRY, EPHEL DUATH) - Drums
* Wolf - Vocals

DARKSIDE is still looking for a suitable bass player. Interested parties can contact the group at [email protected].

DARKSIDE released its latest album, "Amber – Skeletal Journeys through the Void", in March 2007 through Austria's Noisehead Records.
