DARKSIDE: New Lineup Announced

Austria's longest-running death metal band DARKSIDE has announced its brand new lineup. It is as follows:

* Bernd Brodträger (BLED DRY, PEREAT, DEVANIC) - Guitar
* Janos Murri (DEMOLITION, PRIORITY) - Guitar
* Andrea Rabuini (INFERNAL POETRY, EPHEL DUATH) - Drums
* Wolf - Vocals

DARKSIDE is still looking for a suitable bass player. Interested parties can contact the group at [email protected].

In other news, DARKSIDE is currently working on a 20-year anniversary album, "XX-Deca(y)ed – Throne of the Deathgod", featuring re-recorded versions of songs from all of the band's albums as well as a few cover songs, some surprises and a brand new track. The CD artwork will be created by Joachim Luetke, who has previously worked with DIMMU BORGIR, ARCH ENEMY, MESHUGGAH and KREATOR, among others. DARKSIDE is also writing material for a new studio LP, which will be titled "A-E-I-O-U".

Commented Wolf: "After the [canceled] reunion show I was fed up with everything until I got together with Bernd. He is an exciting guitar player, but even more focused on what we intend to do.

"Before we started the whole thing, he wanted me to give him all CDs of DARKSIDE so that he could really get a feel for what we did in the past 20 years. I was stunned!

"Talking about Andreas' abilities would be carrying owls to Athens; everybody can check that on YouTube, haha.

"And finally Janos, he has become a partner in crime for the past years, joining us on the MOONSPELL tour in 2007 and, of course, as a bandmate in DEMOLITION since 2005.

"I'm really excited about this collabouration and looking forward to the recording of the album.

"We have chosen about 20 old songs plus some covers and hopefully a new song is gonna make it to the album, too. Also, the collabouration with Joachim is something very special to me, we have been friends for so many years now.

"To sum it up, this lineup was what made me decide to continue the DARKSIDE story once more. Let's see what the future has still in store for us."

Bernd Brodträger will play session guitarist for Austrian extreme metallers BELPHEGOR on their upcoming European headlining tour.

DARKSIDE released its latest album, "Amber – Skeletal Journeys through the Void", in March 2007 through Austria's Noisehead Records.
