DARKEST HOUR To Undertake Tour Of Australia/New Zealand

February 15, 2006

DARKEST HOUR will be playing nine shows in New Zealand and Australia beginning in late April. "We are stoked with a capital STOKED," the band write on their web site. "Aside from the fact that this is our first time ever in the southern hemisphere, JH [vocalist John Henry] is also stoked to sample some Down Under brew besides Foster's. Paul [Burnette, bass] can't wait to try shrimp from the barbie. And for Tito [Picon, tour manager] and Mike [Schleibaum, guitar] it's like visiting a musical Mecca to finally see the birthplace of two of their favorite bands: AC/DC and MIDNIGHT OIL." The dates are as follows:

Apr. 20 - Wellington, New Zealand @ The Valve
Apr. 21 - Hamilton, New Zealand @ The Meteor
Apr. 22 - Auckland, New Zealand @ Ellen Melville Hall
Apr. 23 - Auckland, New Zealand @ Kings Arms
Apr. 26 - Sydney, Australia @ The Gaelic Club
Apr. 27 - Brisbane, Australia @ The Basement
Apr. 28 - Melbourne, Australia @ The Espy Hotel
Apr. 29 - Adelaide, Australia @ Fowlers Live
Apr. 30 - Perth, Australia @ The Rosemount Hotel

DARKEST HOUR are scheduled to film a video for the song "Sound the Surrender" sometime this month with director Joseph Pattisall (DROWNINGMAN, J PARIS). The track comes off the group's latest CD, "Undoing Ruin", which was released in June 2005 via Victory Records. The follow-up to 2003's "Hidden Hands of a Sadist Nation" was produced by STRAPPING YOUNG LAD mastermind Devin Townsend and features artwork by Chris Taylor of PG. 99.

DARKEST HOUR will launch a tour with HIMSA, A LIFE ONCE LOST, THE ACACIA STRAIN and DEAD TO FALL on February 17 in Cohoes, New York, with dates running through April 1 in Washington, D.C.
