DARKANE Guitarist Begins Work On Solo Project

May 3, 2005

Guitarist Christofer Malmström of the Swedish thrashers DARKANE has posted the following update on his official web site:

"I have finally started to record my solo project NON-HUMAN LEVEL. Ryan van Poederooyen [DEVIN TOWNSEND BAND] has sent me the drum files from Vancouver and they sound incredible! So far I have recorded the rythm guitars to seven songs and will finish the rest and start to record the solos this upcoming weekend. Ryan has put up a video clip from the recording on his own website. He is also organizing a chat meeting next Monday with a contest where you can win some signed NHL-related stuff. I will also participate in this chat, which will start at 11 p.m. Central European Time May 9th (2 p.m. Vancouver time). To learn more about the chat contest, check out Ryan's site, and make sure you visit his site next Monday and talk to us!

"Peter [Wildoer, DARKANE drummer] and I was in Donzdorf in Germany last weekend for a listening session at the Nuclear Blast HQ together with selected metal press from different european metal magazines. I have put up some photos of the weekend in the Personal Gallery. The meeting was very succesful and the press people seemed to be very enthusiastic about 'Layers of Lies'. The session ended with a party at a local restaurant.

"'Layers of Lies' is now being printed and will be released June 27th in Europe and July 12th in North America. Here's the album cover."

As previously reported, the Japanese version of the CD will contain a bonus track, entitled "Subliminal Seduction".

DARKANE's last studio album, "Expanding Senses", was released in 2002.
