DARK FUNERAL Explain European Tour Cancellation

March 24, 2005

Swedish black metallers DARK FUNERAL have issued the following statement regarding their withdrawal from the No Mercy Festivals European tour:

"There have obviously been several rumours circulating about why we were forced to drop off the No Mercy Tour; many of them are false of course.

"For the very first time in 10 years of touring the flu struck our tour bus real hard. And it literally knocked all of us out, including our crew. So from Saturday, March 19th we were unfortunately forced to drop off and return home for recovery.

"We are truly sorry for the inconvenience it may have caused anyone."

As previously reported, DARK FUNERAL will enter Dug Out studios in Uppsala, Sweden on May 23 with producer Daniel Bergstrand (IN FLAMES, MESHUGGAH, STRAPPING YOUNG LAD) to record their new album, due in late 2005 via Regain Records. The recording/mixing sessions for the follow-up to 2001's "Diabolis Interium" are expected to conclude on July 1. "We are currently in our most creative period since the split with MNW/No Fashion," the band write on their web site. "Lots of new songs are in process and you can be sure to expect the most devastating album from DARK FUNERAL ever!"
