DAN SWANÖ: New THE PROJECT HATE Album Is Band's Best Effort To Date

June 20, 2005

Swedish producer/multi-instrumentalist Dan Swanö has posted the following message regarding the recently completed new THE PROJECT HATE album, "Armageddon March Eternal (Symphonies of Slit Wrists)", which he produced and mixed:

"So I'm back again. Working with Mr. K [Kenth Philipson, guitar]. It's been a great experience for me to finally satisfy this perfectionist. It's been quite tough sometimes, the lost Easter holiday re-amping guitars and doing my taxes at the same time. Well, both turned out great, so looking back, nothing to be nagging about.

"I know it sounds like a cliché, but this is the best THE PROJECT HATE this far. I find it hard to believe that Kekko K will ever make a better album that this, but I guess people said that the last time as well... I don't have any particular favorite song, I think all of them hold up extremely well and that is what scares me!!!

"I don't think anyone will understand just have extremely carefully this album has been recorded, programmed and mixed. We're talking about endless hours of correcting things no human being ever would have noticed, except The K man... so we fucken fixed it... and all those breaths... goddamn... but anyway... after a gazillion remixes and attemps to get a satisfactory master CD, I think we're there (still waiting for the final 'YES' from Mr. K) .

"Soundwise, I believe this to be one of the best mixes I have ever done. We have pushed ourselves and kept going for a sound that is crushingly brutal death fucking metal yet modern metal crystal clean. It's been a real hell trying to get a good balance for certain parts. When there's four guitars, one bass, drums, lead guitars, a shitload of keyboards and some female vocals thrown in all together, things get a bit rough and you thank.. whatever... for the invention of Nuendo and its many tracks and automation!!! After this record, I must admit that Jörgen [Sandström, ex-ENTOMBED/GRAVE] is the best death metal singer in the world and K is the tightest rhythm guitarist this side of the known universe. The rest of the performances are also great. Mazza is doing some cool shit, the lady sings like Amy Lee — 'nuff said. And the bass...THE BASS!!! Mr. Håkansson [Michael, EVERGREY], fuck, yeah!! Now I must go back to work on my pretentious pop-album that will make Kekko Ph shit bricks of anger when he hears it!!"

The follow-up to 2003's "Hate, Dominate, Congregate, Eliminate" is tentatively scheduled for release in October via Threeman Recordings. More information about the individual songs making up the album can be found at this location.
