CRIMINAL Guitarist Sits Out Shows

June 9, 2010

Lead guitarist Rodrigo Contreras of Anglo-Chilean thrash masters CRIMINAL was forced to sit out the band's recent shows in the U.K. and the Basque Country and was temporary replaced by Olmo from the Basque band GAMORA.

Comments CRIMINAL vocalist/guitarist Anton Reisenegger: "Rod has decided to return to Chile for now as he needed to take care of some personal and business issues. We hope it will only be a temporary thing and he'll come back soon, but right now the future is quite unclear. In the meantime, we have enlisted Olmo from the Basque band GAMORA to fill in for Rod. Olmo is a great guy and an excellent guitarist, and he's already done a great job on the past few shows as all those in attendance can confirm. He is totally aware of the situation and has expressed his total support and his desire to help us out as long as his services are needed.

"We'll keep you posted on any developments, but rest assured, we shall carry on! A South American tour is in its planning stages for late 2010 and we've already begun writing material for a new album."

CRIMINAL recently released a new music video for the song "Incubus". The clip, which can be viewed below, was directed and edited by renowned Chilean visual artist Carlos Toro, who has previously worked with KREATOR, VADER, LACRIMOSA and MERCENARY, among others.

"Incubus" comes off CRIMINAL's latest album, "White Hell", which was released in February 2009 by Germany's Massacre Records. The CD is being widely hailed as the band's finest record to date.

CRIMINAL recently supported METALLICA in Chile in front of over 55,000 raging metalheads.
