CRETIN Sign With RELAPSE RECORDS

Bay Area grindcore trio CRETIN have inked a deal with Relapse Records. The band's first official release on the Relapse roster will be a split release with label-mates PIG DESTROYER, due out later this year. CRETIN is also rehearsing material for their first full-length album, slated for a late 2005 release via Relapse.

"We're very proud to be part of the Relapse roster, a label that has represented grind and death metal for over ten years," said guitarist/vocalist Dan Martinez. "We hope to make everyone proud." Bassist Matt Widener, who also fronts political grindcore band CITIZEN, added, "Relapse is the perfect home for CRETIN; really, the only one I can imagine. I'm glad that they're giving us this chance." Col Jones, who still drums for thrash metal band DEKAPITATOR, admitted, "I've been with Relapse for years, and I know CRETIN can deliver the goods.
