COREY TAYLOR: SLIPKNOT To Tour For A Year Following Album Release

March 18, 2003

SLIPKNOT singer Corey Taylor has once again refuted reports that the band are to split and has revealed that the multi-platinum masked men are set to enter the studio shortly to record a new album.

Speaking in the latest issue of Kerrang! magazine, Talyor said: "Right now, we're writing material for the next album. We're gonna leapfrog between the STONE SOUR tour and writing and recording the SLIPKNOT album. As soon as we're done touring, the SLIPKNOT album will probably be ready to come out and then we'll tour with them for about a year."

He also elaborated on the reason he felt the need to resume singing duties with his original band, STONE SOUR. "Toward the end of the 'Iowa' tour cycle, there was a lot of stuff going on, stuff behind the scenes that bands don't usually talk about."

SLIPKNOT are expected to enter a Los Angeles studio in April with producer Rick Rubin (RED HOT CHILI PEPPERS, THE CULT, SYSTEM OF A DOWN) to begin tracking the new CD for a late 2003 release through Roadrunner Records.
