Classic JUDAS PRIEST, IRON MAIDEN, MOTÖRHEAD, SLAYER Tracks Featured On 'Heavy Metal Box'

According to Billboard.com, Rhino Records has set an October 2 release date for "Heavy Metal Box". The four-disc, 70-song set boasts classic tracks from IRON MAIDEN, JUDAS PRIEST, MOTÖRHEAD and SLAYER, among dozens of others.

Arranged chronologically from 1968 to 1991, the compilation also boasts hits from bands like DEEP PURPLE, METALLICA, BLACK SABBATH, IRON BUTTERFLY, PANTERA, ALICE COOPER, VENOM, TESTAMENT, RUSH and MEGADETH. True to its name, the project will be literally packaged in a metal box resembling a Marshall guitar amp.

The liner notes will include extensive photos, track commentary, interviews with Ronnie James Dio and Lita Ford and an essay by METALLICA's Lars Ulrich on the New Wave of Brish Heavy Metal (NWOBHM).
