September 11, 2006

Guitarist/producer Daniel Rey (MASTERS OF REALITY, RAMONES) will join CIRCUS OF POWER on stage as second guitarist at the September 27 show at Don Hill's. Rey produced the CIRCUS OF POWER albums "Vices" and "Still Alive" as well as the now-classic self-titled first LP that contained the MTV staples "Motor" and "Call of the Wild". In addition to Alex Mitchell (vocals),Ricky Beck Mahler (guitar),Ryan Maher (drums),and Marc Frappier (bass),the band will also be joined on stage during the second half of the show by guitar player Carmine Mattaliano (BIOHAZARD, NUCLEUS, GOD ZERO) and Queen Vixen and Honey 1%er (THE CYCLE SLUTS FROM HELL). For this special "20th Anniversary Show", the band will be performing their classic self-titled debut in its entirety as well as choice selections from their 1990 (RCA) release "Vices" and "Magic & Madness" (Columbia, 1993). The band will also perform their version of the classic ROLLING STONES song "Dead Flowers", which can be seen at www.circusofpower.net.

With his wife expecting their first child, founding member Gary Sunshine will be unable to perform at the band's upcoming "20th Anniversary" show September 27 in New York City. "Although he will be very much missed by both band and fans alike all we can say is 'Mazel Tov, good things!!" says drummer Ryan Maher.

CIRCUS OF POWER have reunited and will be playing their first New York City show in over 12 years as part of director Drew Stone's release party for his new film "Passion & Brotherhood". The band appears in the film from Austin, Texas performing "Heart Attack" as the soundtrack to the "Urban Street - Bike Warriors All-Star" segment. Live footage of the band is intercut with the worlds top street motorcycle stunt riders including Kyle Woods and Chris "Teach" McNeil. "'Passion & Brotherhood' is the most eagerly anticipated stuntbike film of the year and we are all very excited about the bands involvement," says Stone.

Concertgoers are encouraged to bring their mini DV video cameras and film the upcoming CIRCUS OF POWER show at Don Hills in New York on September 27. "We encourage anyone coming to the show to bring their cameras and please shoot the show," says Drew Stone. "We're appealing to the CIRCUS OF POWER fans to not only come and shoot the show but to please shoot some 'lifestyle' as well. Getting ready for the show and whatever antics occur while traveling to the show or getting ready is more than welcome on the tape. Have some fun with it!! If you need a blank DV tape they will be available at the front door as you enter the show; just ask for one. Any questions please e-mail me at [email protected]. This is the stuff that's going to make the CIRCUS OF POWER long-form very interesting and the band welcomes your involvement!!"

The New York City show is being filmed as part of the upcoming CIRCUS OF POWER long-form DVD, "Got Motor? Swamp Boogie In The Big City", due out in 2007 through Renegade Distribution. The DVD will include classic performances throughout the band's career as well as new footage documenting the "20 Anniversary" shows.
