CHIMAIRA: Santiago Concert Cancelled

April 20, 2007

CHIMAIRA has cancelled its previously announced April 29 concert at Teatro Teleton in Santiago, Chile. "We had serious problems getting our working visas in time," the band writes in a statement. "The promoter has done everything in his power to try and fix this problem but nothing worked out. We are really angry that we cannot perform for our South American fans who have been waiting for such a long time to see CHIMAIRA play. We have tried every angle to get into the country legally. We will reschedule and this time we will add other South American countries as well. We apologize once again...."

CHIMAIRA, in conjunction with Sony Connect / Connect.com, has announced the exclusive download availability of "Paralyzed", the bonus track off the band's debut Ferret Music release, "Resurrection". It is available for purchase at this location. Also available on Connect.com: a feature interview with lead guitarist Rob Arnold and a show review from CHIMAIRA's March 2007 Los Angeles stop on the No Fear tour alongside KILLSWITCH ENGAGE, DRAGONFORCE and HE IS LEGEND. Check out the interview/concert review here.

CHIMAIRA has been confirmed for the third edition of the Sounds of the Underground tour alongside GWAR, EVERY TIME I DIE, NECRO and JOB FOR A COWBOY, among others.

The 25-city North American trek starts July 6 at the Palladium Ballroom in Dallas and wraps Aug. 8 at the Fillmore Auditorium in Denver. Other confirmed acts include DARKEST HOUR, AMON AMARTH, THE ACACIA STRAIN, HEAVY HEAVY LOW LOW, THE NUMBER TWELVE LOOKS LIKE YOU, DEVIL WEARS PRADA and GOATWHORE.
