CHIMAIRA: 13 Songs Ready For New Album

March 10, 2006

Cleveland, Ohio's CHIMAIRA have issued the following update via their official web site:

"So as you probably already know we have lined up quite a bit of touring for the next couple of months. We tried to keep this under wraps and make an official announcement with everyone, but with the powers of the Internet these things are impossible. Hell, the singer of KROKUS can't even trim his toenails without Blabbermouth posting it.

"Here is the deal... We are doing a Jager-sponsored tour with ARCH ENEMY, NEVERMORE, GOD FORBID and the slowest band on the planet, HATE ETERNAL. We can't wait to sit behind Roddy and watch his inhuman speed. We also have prepared a very strong alarm system to watch over our beer, Jager and food so that GOD FORBID can't steal it. Last but not least we are looking forward to sharing the stage with ARCH ENEMY and NEVERMORE for the first time. As fans of every single one of these bands, this will be a great tour. I would even call it the definitive spring metal tour.

"On to this European tour rumor. It is true that we will be on the first U.K./Europe's Sounds Of The Underground tour. With the exception of MANNTIS, this is a kick-ass reunion from last summer for us. SOTU was the most fun we have had on a tour in a long ass time, so it's going to be kick ass to do it all over again. I can't wait to share Cuban recipies with MADBALL, show ALL THAT REMAINS that we are still as psychotic as we were in the fall, play some poker with UNEARTH, watch TERROR keep up their name sake, and hopefully Adair from MANNTIS will make us another pumpkin haha...To sum it up, we look forward to jamming with all of the bands and once again show our appreciation to our amazing fans abroad.

"What else has been going on you ask? Well, two guys in CHIMAIRA have recently become engaged, so congratulations are in order to them! (Way to put the pressure on the rest of us in serious relationships, thanks assholes!) Andols has been getting back into shape both at the gym and with us. I am not bullshitting when I say we sound better then ever before and we have a new fire under our asses so when we get out on that stage look the fuck out! The rest of the guys have grown kick ass mustaches, hopefully they keep them for the touring, and finally for the two months we were off we spent it wisely. We have thirteen songs written for a new record already. We don't plan on stopping yet, we have a ton of more ideas. We hope to get into the studio in the fall. So kiddies...if you want to see CHIMAIRA in 2006, you better make it to these shows. For areas we haven't hit on this cycle yet, don't fret, we are working to get out to you, but if we can't...we promise to be there in '07."
