Chile's PENTAGRAM Confirmed For Germany's WACKEN OPEN AIR Festival

Long-defunct extreme metal pioneers PENTAGRAM from Chile will play another reunion show at this year's Wacken Open Air festival, set to take place July 30 - August 1, 2009 in Wacken, Germany.

Highly acclaimed as true originators of the international underground extreme metal scene, PENTAGRAM produced two legendary demo tapes in the late Eighties which server as the source of inspiration for many black/death metal cult acts to follow (including AVULSED, NAPALM DEATH, AT THE GATES, DISMEMBER, ENTOMBED and CARCASS).

Band leader Anton "Behemoth" Reisenegger later formed the acclaimed death-thrash outfit CRIMINAL.

Germany's Cyclone Empire last year released "Under The Spell Of The Pentagram", a CD+DVD set featuring all known recordings from PENTAGRAM on CD along with live footage on DVD.
