CHARGER Ink Deal With PEACEVILLE RECORDS

October 2, 2002

Britain's CHARGER have reportedly inked a deal with Peaceville Records for the release of their debut full-length album, which is currently being recorded at Mighty Atom Studios in Swansea, Wales with legendary producer Billy Anderson (CLUTCH, BRUTAL TRUTH, ORANGE GOBLIN, NEUROSIS, SLEEP). Currently untitled, the long-awaited follow-up to 2000's The Foul Year Of Our Lord will be released in early spring 2003.

A spokesperson for the label said: "We've been fans of the band for the last couple of years and when the opportunity arose to sign them we knew there'd be a lot of interested parties involved. To actually come out on top & have one of the best UK acts grace our label's roster feels even better than finding a BMX at the bottom of the bed on Christmas morning, aged 12!"

To celebrate the signing, Peaceville are to host a special Halloween show (October 31st) at The Marquee in London. Headlining the event will be THE GREAT DECEIVER (featuring former AT THE GATES/THE CROWN frontman Tomas Lindberg),playing their first ever UK show, with CHARGER as the only support band for the evening. Doors open at 10:30 p.m. with CHARGER hitting the stage appropriately at midnight.
