CHAOSBREED To Get 'Brutal' On Their Full-Length Debut

July 16, 2003

CHAOSBREED, the new Finnish death metal supergroup consisting of drummer Nalle Österman (ex-GANDALF),bassist Oppu Laine (ex-AMORPHIS, MANNHAI),guitarist Marko Tarvonen (MOONSORROW),guitarist Esa Holopainen (AMORPHIS),and vocalist Taneli Jarva (ex-SENTENCED, THE BLACK LEAGUE),have set "Brutal" as the title for their forthcoming debut album, tentatively due in early 2004.

"Brutal" will be recorded in early September at Sunlight Studio in Stockholm, Sweden with producer Tomas Skogsberg. Among the songtitles set to appear on the CD are "Demon Skunk" (which the band describe as "a skull-crushing heavy monster"),"Casket Ride" ("groovy mid-tempo bone-breaker") and "Moralized" (hyperspeed death-metal frenzy).

CHAOSBREED have received several interesting offers from both domestic and foreign record labels and are now weighing their options. No contracts have yet been signed, but the band hope to have a deal secured in the near future. In the meantime, CHAOSBREED will enter Studio Herzika shortly to record two songs for a limited-edition split-7" with Finnish hardcore veterans RYTMIHÄIRIÖ.

In other news, CHAOSBREED's debut demo, "Unleashed Carnage" — which has been available for download via the Internet since May — will be released officially as an EP in CD format on July 21 through Finnish death metal label Rising Realm Records. One new song ("Friendly Fire") and an intro ("Prelude To Death") have been added to add more value for money, as these tracks have not been previously available through the Net.

The group made their live debut last Friday (July 11) at Stella Star Club in Helsinki during the Tuska festival weekend. More gigs in the Helsinki area will be announced shortly. Foreign dates are also planned.
