CEPHALIC CARNAGE: 'Misled By Certainty' First-Week Sales Revealed

September 8, 2010

"Misled By Certainty", the new album from Denver, Colorado-based technical death/grind metallers CEPHALIC CARNAGE, sold around 1,300 copies in the United States in its first week of release. The CD landed at position No. 24 on the Top New Artist Albums (Heatseekers) chart, which lists the best-selling albums by new and developing artists, defined as those who have never appeared in the Top 100 of The Billboard 200.

Released on August 31 via Relapse Records, the follow-up to 2007's "Xenosapien" was recorded at Flatline Audio studios with longtime engineer/producer Dave Otero. The CD is described in a press release as a "50-plus-minute journey into metal's most extreme realms" which "see[s] these veterans takes it to edge before pulling it back with 'Repangea', perhaps their most sprawling and epic work to date."

CEPHALIC CARNAGE will team up with PSYCROPTIC for a co-headlining tour of Europe. The trek, dubbed the "Initiation of The Misled European Tour 2010", kicks off on September 10 in Germany and also includes ION DISSONANCE, HOUR OF PENANCE and DYSCARNATE.

CEPHALIC CARNAGE's previous full-length album, "Xenosapien", was released in May 2007 via Relapse Records. The CD was recorded by the band and Dave Otero at their studio in Denver. The album's artwork was designed by Orion Landau.
