CELTIC FROST's TOM FISCHER Approached To Participate In FOO FIGHTERS Recording Session

July 22, 2002

CELTIC FROST mainman Tom Gabriel Fischer was approached to participate in a recording session for a radio station in London with the FOO FIGHTERS, but the session fell apart for undisclosed reasons. Says Fischer: "We were going to do 'Fame' by David Bowie and 'Dethroned Emperor' by CELTIC FROST, but unfortunately the session fell through only a few hours before it was scheduled to happen."

Meanwhile, Fischer is still awaiting the release of Grohl's PROBOT project (believed to be coming out through Roswell/RCA Records in late 2002/early 2003),on which Tom appears in the form of a track called "Big Sky", the final recordings for which were delivered over a year ago. "We (Erol Unala of APOLLYON SUN and I) have completed a song called 'Big Sky' with Dave Grohl for the PROBOT project. Dave provided me with the opportunity to write the lyrics for the song and sing the lead vocals, and Erol added some guitar. The lyrics turned into some of the most personal I have ever written, and the song's mood reminds me a bit of [CELTIC FROST's] 'Mesmerized'."
