CANDLEMASS, TROUBLE In Stockholm: A Wicked Night Of Doom!

December 10, 2003

Swedish doom masters CANDLEMASS have posted the following report from their Nov. 29 Stockholm gig with TROUBLE and FORCE OF EVIL:

"Both TROUBLE and FORCE OF EVIL arrived to Stockholm on the Friday. FORCE OF EVIL got in late and chose to have an early night after some pasta, while TROUBLE and CANDLEMASS had loads of garlic at the Olsson place and a couple of really healthy beers at Kelly's. One nice evening that improved vastly a bunch of hours later!! Assassination, annihilation, destruction, DOOOM!!

"What a gig! FORCE OF EVIL was sharp and deadly, TROUBLE heavy, brutal....and CANDLEMASS simply destroyed what was left of Klubben after last year's show!!! A nearly sold out place just couldn't believe their ears and eyes, ha-ha!! Heavy music won't get any better than this!! AND...the afterparty was immense too!! Just ask [FORCE OF EVIL/MERCYFUL FATE guitarist] Hank Shermann how he felt during an interview the day after... and [CANDLEMASS bassist] Leif [Edling] had a songwriter vs songwriter discussion with [EUROPE singer] Joey Tempest (!) in the bar. We anxiously wonder what will come out of that one?!! [CANDLEMASS vocalist] Messiah and a few other survivors ended up at McDonalds 09.00 Sunday morning. We heard somebody was still thirsty, ha-ha!!!"
