CANDLEMASS Finish Recording New Demo, Seek Record Deal

The reunited classic line-up of CANDLEMASS — vocalist Messiah Marcolin, bassist/founder Leif Edling, guitarist Mats "Mappe" Björkman, lead guitarist Lars Johansson and drummer Jan Lindh — have completed work on a brand new two-song demo, which they are currently using to procure a record deal. The tracks "Witch" and "Born In A Tank" were recorded in early August, just prior to the Popkomm music convention in Köln, Germany, and "are [done] in [the] true CANDLEMASS style," according to Edling, "with both heavy and hard passages, lots of negative riffing, melody and slow doomy choruses.

"The demo won't be out for sale or on any tape-traders' lists," continued Leif, "but I'm sure the tracks will be on the next C-MASS album."
