BUCKCHERRY: New Audio Interview Posted Online

February 14, 2006

A 12-minute audio interview with BUCKCHERRY members Josh Todd (vocals) and Keith Nelson (guitar),conducted on February 2 by Jolene of Seattle's 99.9 KISW, has been posted online at this location.

In other news, Todd recently spoke to Eric Schelkopf of the Kane County Chronicle about the group's decision to reunite and release a new studio album ("Fifteen", due in April).

"It really wasn't planned," Todd said. "We started talking at the beginning of last year. We just kind of started rekindling our friendship."

The reformed band features three new members — drummer Xavier Muriel, bassist Jimmy Ashhurst and guitarist Stevie D., a Chicago native.

"The band is better than it ever was," Todd said. "I know the rhythm section is 10 times better than it ever was. People who are coming to the shows are blown away. It's the band that we always wanted the band to be."

"At the end of the 'Time Bomb' tour, it just didn't seem like a band," Todd said. "It just seemed like a bunch of individuals. Keith and I always remained the same and had the same passion for BUCKCHERRY, but it just didn't seem like the other guys did. This is really the ideal situation."

"Time Bomb" was the band's second album. The Los Angeles-based band broke onto the national music scene in 1999 with their self-titled debut album, which generated the radio hit "Lit Up".

BUCKCHERRY recorded its latest album — its third overall — in 15 days, thus the name "Fifteen".

"We were on a tight budget and every minute of the day was accounted for," Todd said. "We don't like to sit around and contemplate stuff in the studio because it costs a lot of money and we also want to capture that live feeling."

The album is diverse, mixing rockers with ballads.

"It has a lot of different flavors," Todd said. "As a listener, you can listen to it as a whole, you don't have to flip through it. It's just a good rock 'n' roll record."

Todd said he looks forward to making many more records with the band.

"We are staying on the road and we're going to make lots of records and stay together. That's what we want to do," Todd said.
