BLIND GUARDIAN Bassist Performs With LEAVES' EYES At METAL FEMALE VOICES FEST; Video Available

October 24, 2009

Bassist Oliver Holzwarth (TARJA TURUNEN, BLIND GUARDIAN) joined LEAVES' EYES — the band formed by ex-THEATRE OF TRAGEDY singer Liv Kristine Espenaes Krull and members of ATROCITY — for two songs during the German/Norwegian female-fronted metal group's acoustic performance at the Metal Female Voices Fest on October 19, 2009 in Wieze, Belgium. Holzwarth was filling in for LEAVES' EYES' regular bassist Alla Fedynitch, who is suffering from a herniated vertebral disk and paralysis on her right hand, making it possible for her to play only one song with the group during the show.

Watch fan-filmed video footage of the perfomance below.

Commented LEAVES' EYES: "Alla has to take a physiotherapeutic treatment for the next six weeks which makes it impossible for her to play the upcoming shows in Italy (October 31) and the Beauty & The Beast Tour (with LEAVES' EYES, ATROCITY, SIRENIA, ELIS and STREAM OF PASSION).

"Alla and the whole band deeply regret all this. However, the shows will take place [with a substitute bassist]!"

"Njord", the new full-length album from LEAVES' EYES, has sold 2,200 copies in the United States since its September 29 release, according to Nielsen SoundScan.

"My Destiny", the new video from LEAVES' EYES, was directed by Patric Ullaeus (DIMMU BORGIR, LACUNA COIL) of Revolver Film Company in Gothenburg, Sweden.

Photos from the video shoot, as well as a German-language report from guitarist Thorsten "Tosso" Bauer, can be found on the Sounds2Move.de web site.
