BLACKGUARD Pulls Out Of European PAGANFEST Tour

May 26, 2009

Montreal-based sympho/black/folk/power metal act BLACKGUARD (formerly PROFUGUS MORTIS) has issued the following update:

"It is with great regrets that we have to announce to all of you guys that BLACKGUARD pulled off Paganfest Europe that was taking place in September-October 2009 alongside KORPIKLAANI, DIE APOKALYPTISCHEN REITER, UNLEASHED, ALESTORM and EX DEO.

"This situation is far beyond our control.

"After a lot of negotiation from BLACKGUARD, alongside Nuclear Blast and Hard-Impact Management, a joint decision has been made to pull off Paganfest Europe.

"We are deeply sorry for all the European fans who were eager to see us live but worry not, it is only a matter of time... we will be back in Europe! However, BLACKGUARD will be taking part in a North American tour that will be announced shortly."

BLACKGUARD's debut album, "Profugus Mortis", was released on March 20 in Europe via Nuclear Blast Records and April 28 in North America through Sumerian Records.

The track listing for the CD is as follows:

01. Scarlet To Snow
02. This Round's On Me
03. Allegiance
04. I Demon
05. The Sword
06. In Time
07. Cinder
08. Vain
09. The Last We Wage
