BENEDICTION Enlists New Touring Drummer

March 19, 2007

Long-running British metallers BENEDICTION have issued the following update:

"As many of you know by now, Nick Barker [drums] has been doing a stint with TESTAMENT, and since the band have been locked away in this cellar, no tour dates were planed for 2007, leaving Nick time to play on the new TESTAMENT record and tour. So Frank/ Dave/ Darren/ Rew planned how to make Nick suffer for not being locked up with them. Well here it is, a new tour, the band are hitting the road again to drink all of your beer and play some festivals.

"As Nick is out on tour at the same time, the band had to think fast who could fill the big mans place. One name kept coming back into there heads — Neil Hutton.

"Neil has played on all the band's releases from 'The Dreams You Dread' onwards, Neil escaped the band to play with STAMPIN' GROUND for a while and has been dragged kicking and screaming back to do this tour. So what does this all mean. Well, at some of the shows on this new tour you are going to get two drummers — Yes, that's right, TWO! Because the band are playing on some dates, coinciding with TESTAMENT, Nick will be joining the band on stage for a few songs and then running away again. Both are leaders in the drumming field, so if you are at one of the shows, then count yourselves lucky!"

BENEDICTION's new album, "Killing Music", will be released later in the year via Nuclear Blast Records, with whom the band recently re-signed. The CD will mark the recording debut with the group of Nick Barker, who was a member of DIMMU BORGIR, CRADLE OF FILTH and BRUJERIA, and who played with ex-FEAR FACTORY guitarist Dino Cazares in the short-lived DRIVEN BY SUFFERING (working name).
