BELPHEGOR: Perfect Ending To A Successful Year

December 24, 2007

Austrian extreme metallers BELPHEGOR have just completed a European tour with SIX FEET UNDER, NILE and FINNTROLL. According to the band, "this brutal trip was a triumph for BELPHEGOR in all senses. Playing in front of packed venues was a perfect ending for the successful year 2007."

Commented guitarist/vocalist Helmuth: "Yeah, we have been touring constantly since October 2006 when the record 'Pestapokalypse VI' came out. Since there we played worldwide more than 110 shows and toured our asses off. Canada, two times USA, Russia, Brazil, Europe, Mexico, lots of major summer festivals like the genius Wacken Open Air. Even Graspop in Belgium, Hole In The Sky in Norway and Thionville in France turned out to be fantastic. For the first time we had the honour to visit Ireland, South Africa, Portugal, Scotland, Denmark,...an unforgettable time. Lots of thanks again to all cool people we meet on the road and making 2007 a fuckin killer for BELPHEGOR to remember and take to our graves, or whatsoever har har. You rule, you fucking rule, metal brothers and sisters."

BELPHEGOR entered Andy Classen's Stage One Studios in Kassel, Germany last month to begin recording their new album for an April 11, 2008 European release via Nuclear Blast Records (April 15 in North America). The follow-up to 2006's "Pestapokalypse VI" is being recorded in three separate sessions lasting through the middle of January 2008.

BELPHEGOR's video for the song "Hells Ambassador" produced and directed by F. Werner can be viewed below. The track comes off the group's latest CD, "Pestapokalypse VI", which was released on October 31, 2006 via Nuclear Blast Records.
