BEHEMOTH Mainman Checks In From 'Blackest Of The Black' Tour

October 4, 2005

Polish black metallers BEHEMOTH have finally made their much anticipated return to U.S. The band kicked off the "Blackest of the Black" tour — also featuring DANZIG (joined by former MISFITS member Doyle Von Frankenstein for a special 30-minute set of MISFITS classics),CHIMAIRA, HIMSA, and THE AGONY SCENE — on September 30 in San Diego, California.

Commented BEHEMOTH mainman Nergal: "Let's start with the first show that took place in San Diego, on West Coast. Although we showed up pretty late and didn't have much time to check our new equipment, we enjoyed the whole thing a lot. The audience was simply amazing. The same night we left to Las Vegas, where the second concert took place. It was our first time that we've ever played in this city, and again, the audience made our day! All the bands kicked serious ass that evening but DANZIG's set was the highlight of the night. I need to mention that me and my bandmates will never forget that night in Vegas for some other reasons that I'm gonna keep as a secret, ha ha. Anyway, big THANK U to all the Century Media friends that took such a good care of us that evening! We had a blast! Viva Las Vegas!

"Last night we played in San Francisco, in front of 1,500 people. It was outside the venue and that night was rather chilly and windy but the crowd made this show sooo fuckin' hot! Probably our best concert in San Francisco so far. You deserve all our respect. Keep it up! CHIMAIRA was really tight that evening. Very good set, but again Mr. Danzig blew everything away with their amazing performance."

In other news, BEHEMOTH visited their endorsers at ESP and Spaun before playing their first "Blackest of the Black" show in San Diego. Nergal, Orion and Seth got their brand new ESP guitars that are being tested on the current U.S. dates while Inferno received his monstrous custom Spaun kit. Pictures of the equipment can be viewed at www.behemoth.pl.

Also on the BEHEMOTH-related front, the band have just been confirmed for an exclusive show with DISSECTION on December 30 at The Shrine Club (@ Kolinsborg) in Stockholm, Sweden. Late next month it will also have its premiere on MTV2's "Headbanger's Ball".
