BATTERED Schedules Norwegian One-Off Date

November 27, 2006

BATTERED, the Norwegian band featuring former EINHERJER members Frode Glesnes (a.k.a. Grimar, vocals/guitar),Aksel Herløe (guitar) and Gerhard Storesund (a.k.a. Vivar, drums),has scheduled a one-off date at Byscenen in Haugesund, Norway on December 26.

BATTERED is currently writing material for its second full-length effort, tentatively due next year. "While the bandmembers may have been spread out all over Norway for some time, all members have been busy writing material for our next album, pumping out riffs, lyrics and rhythms for a richer, fuller and more BATTERED experience in our sonic attack!" reads a posting on the group's web site. "Songs are already starting to take shape, and we will not stop until we all feel we have done our best, delivering an album worthy of the live energy we perform it with, whether we play for 20 or a 1000 people!"

As previously reported, BATTERED's video for the song "Not One" has been posted online at this location (48 MB). The clip was shot in bluescreen with producer Rome Ramsies of Vision Valley and the CGI was done in Australia, according to a posting on the band's web site. The song comes off the group's self-titled debut album, which was released in March via Candlelight Records.

"Battered" was recorded at Sifa Lydstudio and was mixed at Top Room Studio with producer Børge Finstad.

BATTERED's current lineup is rounded out by bassist Ole Moldesæther and vocalist Sigurd Olaisen (HEADBLOCK).

Often cited as the leading "viking metal" act, Haugesund-based EINHERJER released several albums and EPs (1994's "Aurora Borealis" EP, 1995's "Leve Vikingånden", 1996's "Dragons of the North", 1997's "Far Far North" EP, 1998's "Odin Owns Ye All", 2000's "Norwegian Native Art" and 2003's "Blot") before folding in May of 2004.
