AXAMENTA To Begin Recording New Album Next Week

April 26, 2005

Belgium's AXAMENTA, the former band of current EPICA bassist Yves Huts, will make their way to Hansen studio in Ribe, Denmark on Sunday, May 1 to begin recording their new album with producer Jacob Hansen (MERCENARY, RAUNCHY, ABORTED). Mixing and mastering will take place at Studio Fredman in Gothenburg, Sweden under the supervision of producer Fredrik Nordström, who has previously worked with bands like IN FLAMES, SOILWORK, DIMMU BORGIR, THE HAUNTED and OLD MAN'S CHILD. A late 2005 release via Holland's Karmageddon Media (formerly Hammerheart Records) is expected.

AXAMENTA began their career by playing doom, fantasy and even death metal, but after a lot of lineup changes, they decided to make a radical shift in their musical style and began experimenting with a more technical and progressive approach. Their love for movie scores also made them replace the keyboards by orchestra samples, which gives them a unique sound in the Belgian metal scene.
