AVENGED SEVENFOLD Follows Up 'Bat' With 'Beast'

Launch Radio Networks reports: AVENGED SEVENFOLD has followed up the first single from its "City of Evil" album, "Bat Country", with the CD's opening track, "Beast And The Harlot". Guitarist Zacky Vengeance told Launch that he thinks the new single might be a bit of a curveball for people who know the band through "Bat Country". "For us, it's really kind of a new venture, because it's a little bit different than any of the other songs on the album," he said. "It's got a lot more swagger to it, which is kind of a cool thing. It's definitely lyrically and, with the video, visually, it's a lot darker of a song than 'Bat Country'."

It's widely believed that AVENGED SEVENFOLD is the yet-to-be-named "mystery" band on this summer's Ozzfest. The surprise act will be revealed on May 23.

AVENGED SEVENFOLD will begin its co-headlining spring tour with COHEED AND CAMBRIA on April 7 in Poughkeepsie, New York.
