AVATAR: New Album Title, Release Date Announced

August 6, 2007

Swedish metal band AVATAR has issued the following update:

"We've got title and release date set for the new album! Make a mark in your calender on October 24th. The album, which will be named 'Schlacht', will be out in all over Europe simultaneously and it will be packed with one hour of kick ass multimedia junk, such as live clips and interviews!

"Large parts of Europe will be able to see us on the road in the beginning of next year with the almighty OBITUARY and HOLY MOSES. We're working on the Swedish dates at the moment, so be patient.

"This album will be something for the history books, I tell ya! I guess you're not really allowed to get these kinds of goose bumps from your own music, but WE DO!!! Can't wait to show you, but I will!"

AVATAR started recording the follow-up to 2006's "Thoughts of No Tomorrow" in May. The band toured Europe with EVERGREY in October-November 2006 and Scandinavia with IN FLAMES in March 2007. They have also played shows with such bands as ARCH ENEMY, STONE SOUR, DISMEMBER, IMPALED NAZARENE, and MARDUK.

The average age of AVATAR members is only 19, and the group is being hailed by the media and fans as the band that will carry the world-famous Gothenburg sound "into the future with new energy!"
