August 4, 2011

Guitarist Michael Sttzer of Danish thrash metal veterans ARTILLERY was interviewed on the July 29 edition of Tony Webster's "The Metal Command" radio show. The chat can now be streamed using the audio player below.

"Warrior Blood", the new video from ARTILLERY, can be viewed below. The clip was filmed in early February with Morten Madsen as producer. According to ARTILLERY vocalist Sren Adamsen, the song's lyrics were written "about fighting. Soldiers, prize-fighters, people who are struggling with deadly diseases."

"Warrior Blood" is the first single/video from ARTILLERY's sixth album, "My Blood", which was released in Europe on March 21 via Metal Mind Productions (April 5 in the U.S. through MVD and March 9 in Japan via King Records). 14 songs were laid down during the sessions at Medley Studios in Copenhagen 10 brand new tracks, a remake of "Ain't Giving In" (from 1992's "Mind Factory" demo) and three bonus tracks which are all new versions of timeless classics from the 1985 album "Fear Of Tomorrow" ("The Eternal War", "The Almighty" and "Show Your Hate"). The cover artwork was created by well-known Polish graphic designer Graal, who has previously worked with VITAL REMANS, SINISTER, SOLITUDE AETURNUS and BULLDOZER. Graal was also responsible for the covers of ARTILLERY's "Through The Years" box and "When Death Comes".

Regarding what fans can expect to hear on the new album, guitarist Michael Sttzer says, "The sound is a bit more heavy than it was on 'When Death Comes'. The music is a mixture of our previous albums, 'When Death Comes' and 'By Inheritance', with a slight touch of 'Terror Squad' and 'Fear of Tomorrow' with some oriental pieces." Producer Sren Adamsen adds, "There is an almost rockn roll feeling in some of the songs."
