In the June 2001 issue of Guitar World magazine, MEGADETH mainman Dave Mustaine reveals the 'real' reason ANTHRAX was thrown off last summer's Maximum Rock tour, which was headlined by MOTLEY CRUE and also featured MEGADETH on the bill.

...

According to Mustaine, 'when we first starting seeing low ticket sales and the tour began losing money, I went up to [MOTLEY CRUE vocalist] Vince Neil and asked him 'Aren't you concerned that there's only 2400 tickets sold for tonight's show?', and he said to me, 'Oh, don't worry, man. There's a big walk-up here.' And I'm thinking, 'We're in the midwest, in the middle of nowhere. The only way there's gonna be a f.cking walk-up tonight is if it's a stampede. So eventually, MOTLEY cut our salary by 5 grand [$5,000] per show — and ANTHRAX, who were only making that to begin with, were sent home. I mean, if you're talking about saving 10 thousand bucks a show, then send the dancers home, send the pyro home. If you're as good as you think you are, let the music do the talking. And then [MOTLEY CRUE bassist] Nikki Sixx goes on the Internet and says that the real reason ANTHRAX got the boot was because the fans wanted MOTLEY to play a longer set. They never played one second longer, and neither did we. In reality, this was MOTLEY's last hurrah, and they wanted to rake in as much cash as they could. I thought it was pretty f.cked up, especially what they did to ANTHRAX.'

MEGADETH's much-anticipated Behind The Music VH1 special, which features interviews with present and past bandmembers, along with Dave Mustaine's former bandmates James Hetfield and Lars Ulrich, is officially scheduled to air on the network this coming Sunday, April 22nd.

Former SKID ROW vocalist Sebastian Bach has finally made available via his official web site the two brand new CDs that he's been threatening to unleash for the last several months. Although not 'new' in the conventional sense, the two CDs contain material that was previously unavailable to the record-buying public as well as rare music that had up until now only appeared on various compilations.

...

Bach 2: Basics features 16 songs, including 'This Is The Moment' from Broadway's Jekyll &amp Hyde, recorded LIVE at the Ed Sullivan Theater in New York City! Also, for the first time since 1995's Subhuman Race, SKID ROW members record together again. Sebastian Bach &amp Rob Affuso, lead singer &amp drummer of the original SKID ROW, have teamed up to record 'Shock Me' (KISS cover) for Bach 2: Basics! The rest of the CD contains songs that have been recorded for various tribute albums. If you ever wanted to get a tribute album but did not because there was only one song featuring Sebastian Bach, now is your chance to get ALL the tribute tracks sung by Bach, all on one CD!

...

THE LAST HARD MEN's self-titled CD, featuring the line-up of Sebastian Bach, Kelley Deal, Jimmy Flemion, &amp Jimmy Chamberlin, was recorded in 1996-1997 &amp is now available for the first time. Although bootleg versions of this music have been available, these inferior versions were tinkered with &amp remixed without the musicians' knowledge, input, consent, or presence &amp should be avoided at ALL COSTS! This CD, however, is the ORIGINAL project presented in its entirety, warts &amp all, &amp includes songs that have NEVER been available, including the STUDIO version of 'The Most Powerful Man In The World'! Sebastian Bach sings lead on 7 songs. 18 songs total.

...

Sebastian Bach is presently in the studio writing and recording material for a new solo CD that is tentatively scheduled for release before the end of the year.

The Welsh crew SKINDRED (featuring former members of DUB WAR) are still seeking a producer to collaborate with on their upcoming RCA Records debut, with plans to release the album before the end of the year. According to the band, 36 songs have been demoed for the forthcoming release, some of which are currently being shopped to various 'name' producers, although no candidates have yet been announced. 'One half of the band are hoping that we find a producer who really cares about the music and loves us all and wants to make the album of there life with us, and the other half think we need a producer who is just a greedy unscrupulous ruthless bastard who can't stand us,' said SKINDRED vocalist Benji. 'Either way, I hope we find the right man or woman for the album.'
