ARCH ENEMY Frontwoman Reports On TUSKA And WITH FULL FORCE Festivals

July 8, 2006

ARCH ENEMY frontwoman Angela Gossow has posted the following message on the band's official web site:

"We managed to get through a couple more rounds of festival wrestling without any severe damage or substance abuse (beer and vodka doesn't count here)… Just the occasional food disaster (Hellfest),thunderstorm (Graspop) and heat stroke (With Full Force) mixed with some lovely warm beer and Vodka. I was a bit drunk at Tuska festival (it's FINLAND — what can I do???). And obviously I enjoyed myself, the wonderful crowd…and every single minute on stage!

"We headlined the second stage on Hellfest and Graspop and had one hell of a time — including a fantastic light show and raging crowds, singing along and engaging in furious headbanging, fist throwing and moshpit-ing.

"We have a new crew working with us this summer and they are doing a great job, thanks guys — you make it rock!

"The Tuska Festival offered a wild and colorful mix of bands with SISTERS OF MERCY playing alongside IMPALED NAZARENE… I preferred the latter one. Suomi Finland Perkele! We headlined a tent stage there and were more than surprised to learn how many fans we actually have in the not-so-cold-right-now north of Scandinavia. We shall be coming back for more! (shows and vodka). Later on that night, Michael Amott was seen hanging out with his old friends Jeff Walker (ex-CARCASS) and Mike Hickey (VENOM).

"With Full Force — we played there on Sunday, the last day of a four-day-festival marathon for their visitors. People were absolutely fried and tired. Sunburn, dehydration and lack of sleep takes its toll… But we still got them moving — creating the dustiest moshpit in recent festival history, ha-ha… We were comparing snot-blackness after the show and I believe I won this contest.

"A high five goes out to all the wonderful people and friends I have met and hung out so far! The guys from CRADLE OF FILTH, Tim 'Ripper' Owens, Danko Jones, Tim (AS I LAY DYING),Sabina and Michi from HOLY MOSES, Amber, Susan etc. A big thank you to all our fans, standing patiently in long cues for the signing sessions, we have enjoyed meeting you all. A big apology to all who came to the Graspop signing — we simply didn’t make it there on time. It was set up last minute and we missed it last minute. We signed a big pile of cards that evening — I hope they were handed out to you…

"Now we are preparing for the next round of festivals: Arvika Festivalen (Sweden),Earthshaker Fest (Germany),Metalcamp Festival (Slovenia),Metalway Festival (Spain),Wacken (Germany) and Gothenburg City Fest (Sweden).

"If truth be told, we are just hanging at the beach — it's too fricking hot for anything else…

"See you wonderful crazy lot out in the fields somewhere, somehow!"
