ANVIL: Canadian Tour Cancelled

Veteran Canadian metallers ANVIL have cancelled their previous announced tour of Eastern Canada with I HATE SALLY and BOBNOXIOUS. No reason was given for the cancellation.

In other news, Norway's Metal Express has posted a 12-minute audio interview with ANVIL mainman Lips conducted earlier this month. Listen to the interview at this location.

ANVIL's most recent studio album, "Back to Basics", received its long-overdue U.S. release in August via Screaming Ferret Wreckords. The follow-up to 2002's "Still Going Strong" was recorded with producer Pierre Rémillard at his studio in Quebec and features artwork by Christoph Schinzel (a.k.a. Stripe) of ARTWÖRKS – GraphikDesignLayout. The initial run of "Back to Basics" also includes a bonus live DVD, "Live At Wacken 1998", featuring such frenzied standards as "Five Knuckle Shuffle", "Smoking Green", "Old School", "Winged Assassins", "Forged In Fire", "March of the Crabs", "Metal On Metal", "666", and "Mothra".
