ANTHRAX's SCOTT IAN: 'I'm Fucking Stoked!'

January 25, 2003

The following is a re-posting of the latest installment of ANTHRAX guitarist Scott Ian's regular online column, dubbed "Alpha Mail", as it appears on the group's official web site at www.anthrax.com:

"Comrades, gutten tag. Tenth day in Europe on the 'No Sleep 'Til Donzdorf' promo trip. 230 interviews as of today. That's a lot of gabbing. The reaction to the record has been incredible. I've done promo trips since 'Spreading The Disease' and this one tops them all. The most interviews, thanks to the hard work of Jaap and Nuclear Blast, and the best reaction by the media, thanks to us making the record we made. We did our job, Nuclear Blast is doing theirs. That's the way it's supposed to work.

"So far the 'Safe Home' single is #11 on the German Alternative (!) charts and is the highest gainer. We've never even been on that chart before. The record is album of the month in Hammer and we haven't received under a 9 out of 10. We are getting cover stories in all the major metal press as well. Our shows in March are already close to selling out. I gotta say, I'm fucking stoked."
